Digital Archives

The King Kamehameha V Judiciary History Center stewards material culture dating to the Hawaiian Kingdom, the republic and territory periods, and statehood. The Judiciary History Center’s digital archives provides snapshots into Hawaii’s unique and dynamic civic history. This database is actively updated with newly digitized material. Please contact the Judiciary History Center for information on how to access material in person, or to volunteer as a collections assistant. View the Judiciary History Center’s Collection Access Policy here.

We encourage you to complete this brief survey about your experience using our digital archives.

The Center’s digital archives was made possible by the Permanent Legacy Foundation’s Byte4Byte Grant  and student internship program awarded to the Friends of the Judiciary History Center of Hawaii in August 2022 and January 2024, respectively. The platform is hosted by Permanent.org, an organization that provides long-term digital storage to nonprofits. The Center’s digital archives would not be possible without the support of Hawaii State Judiciary volunteers and interns, and the incredible team at Permanent.
